Occupational Therapist (OT)

In our clinics, the role of an Occupational Therapist (OT) involves working with children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders, providing comprehensive evaluations, and implementing individualized treatment plans to enhance daily living skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assessment and Re-evaluation:

    • Conduct thorough initial evaluations and regular re-evaluations of all children on your caseload, based on their progress or as mandated by insurance protocols.

    • Submit treatment plans and care goals for re-evaluations and initial evaluations within specified time frames to ensure continuity of care.

  • Therapy Management:

    • Monitor the frequency of sessions to ensure each child receives the optimal amount of therapy each week.

    • Develop and facilitate monthly parent meetings to discuss progress, address concerns, and adjust goals as necessary.

  • Collaboration and Supervision:

    • Participate in monthly collaborative meetings with Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) and Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) to ensure integrated care.

    • Supervise and mentor Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs), providing them with clinical feedback and therapy ideas.

  • Documentation and Communication:

    • Complete all required documentation accurately and promptly.

    • Maintain clear and effective communication with the Office Manager and other team members to implement feedback and ensure professional growth.

  • Client and Family Engagement:

    • Provide tailored home programs for parents to reinforce skills learned during therapy sessions.

    • Share resources and strategies with both therapists and families to support the child’s functional and developmental goals.

  • General Duties:

    • Maintain a clean and safe therapy environment by adhering to sanitation protocols.

    • Perform additional duties as required, which align with professional standards and practice.

 

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.

  • Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist.

  • Experience with pediatric therapy, particularly in autism care, is highly desirable.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
